About

Zen and the Art of Urban Sketching began as a personal journey — a way to slow down, look closer, and rediscover my connection to the world through pen, brush, and color. In the midst of busy corporate life, I found that pausing to sketch — even for a few minutes — transformed how I experienced my surroundings and calmed my heart and mind. The noise softened, there was no rushing, and each moment became something worth being in, worth feeling, worth capturing.

This site is both a companion and a foundation for a book I’m writing of the same name. It’s a place to explore the intersection of mindfulness and creativity — to share techniques, reflections, and stories that invite others to pick up a sketchbook and join in the practice.

At its heart, this project isn’t just about making art. It’s about awareness, gratitude, and being present in the world as it moves around us. Whether you’re an experienced artist or someone who hasn’t drawn since childhood, Zen and the Art of Urban Sketching welcomes you to pause, notice, and draw your way into the moment.
